Almost Famous

Karen Casey-SmithFor this week, I’m the featured artist in Almost Famous, an ongoing series at the Peace and Love Market Blog.  It was a lot of fun to look back and remember some of the things that made the 60’s and 70’s a special time. I hope you enjoy reading it. The feature was written by Lee, of Five To Nine Design. Besides being an amazing jewelry artisan, she’s such a talented writer. I want to say a special thanks to Lee for working her magic on my story. I hope you’ll check out her shop, Five to Nine Design, at 1000 Markets.

Each Sunday, a new artisan from the Peace and Love Market is featured on the Market’s blog. All the interviews have been so interesting! It’s great to get to know the people behind the beautiful work you see there, and to get a glimpse of things that shaped them. The Peace and Love Market is a community of artisans who capture the essence and free-spirited thinking of the 60’s and 70’s. We are small, independent, artisan businesses that offer handmade goods that fit the spirit of that era.

Peace and Love is just one market at 1000 Markets, a juried site for small artisan merchants. 1000 Markets is open for business and currently in Sneak Preview. The official Grand Opening should be very soon. I’m happy have my own shop at 1000 Markets, and to be a member of several Market collectives. It’s a beautiful site and promises to be a good experience for both sellers and buyers. They process payments with the very user-friendly Amazon Payments. I’ve been very impressed with the work and variety I’ve seen at 1000 Markets.  Check it out and see for yourself.

Have fun looking around and shopping. Be sure and bookmark the cool things you’ll find.

Thanks for reading my interview!
