Selu’s Song Flower Mandala

Selu’s Song flower mandala embodies the message of Corn Mother. It was created from my photograph of an orange daylily. Selu [say-loo] is the name Corn Mother is known by in the Cherokee tradition. Giving gladly of herself, she fed and cared for her family, the birds and animals, and Earth Mother. She sang spirit songs, and made the world around her beautiful. Through her story we learn the importance of unconditional giving for balance and harmony in our lives. She teaches us how to keep the joy of life and maintain the balance by giving back, and staying in appreciation for everything on Earth Mother. Her stories help us keep our focus clear.

You can read her wonderful story, as told by Waynonaha Two Worlds, here.

“In the abundance of the harvest may we all have gratitude for all living things and honor all that Corn Mother and Mother Earth have given.” – Waynonaha Two Worlds
