Inspired Action

Inspired Action Flower Mandala carries the frequency of action born of inspiration. It is uplifting expansive energy. This type of action is inspired from within, not from the expectations of others. It often feels like gentle heart promptings, and could easily be ignored.

Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen carefully.― Littlefoot’s mother, Land Before Time

Inspired action will never have a fearful feeling about it. It won’t be a desperate, or emotion filled reaction. It isn’t about trying to make (or force) something to happen, because there’s no manipulation or ego involved.

For me, the clearest promptings come out of the blue without me asking, and during those times I’m relaxed and my mind is quiet. You can also ask for guidance. In that case, before taking action, center and ground yourself. Ask what would love do? Then, quiet your mind and listen. The answer may or may not come immediately, though it will come when the timing is right for you. Go about your day. Have the patience to wait to take action until you are inspired.

“Do you have the patience to wait until your mud settles and the water is clear?” ― Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching

Inspired action will have a relaxed, calm feeling around it. It feels easy, like things just line up for you. You may think it’s the action itself that’s important, but it’s the energy, intent, and feeling behind the action makes all the difference in the outcome. Another important factor is to release any attachment to whether or not things go your way. Give your best and don’t be attached to the results. It’s not inspired action when you have expectations of getting something from it. For the best outcomes, don’t give to get.

Have you ever had a friend pop into your mind, and feel maybe you should contact them even though you don’t know why? This could be inspiration calling you to action. Following through, you may find you can help them, or it turns out they have information that you’ve needed, but never thought of it coming through this person. It could be something as seemingly small as feeling that right now is the time to run that errand. You do go, and find there’s no waiting in a usually busy place, or you meet someone in line that has a helpful message for you. Maybe you meet a new friend that you wouldn’t have met today if you’d waited five more minutes to leave your house.

“What matters is how quickly you do what your soul directs.” ― Rumi, The Essential Rumi

Let your heart guide you. That’s where divine messages come through. And please, don’t worry about missing messages. They are gentle, and the messages will keep coming, so relax. Make this fun. There will be new ways for guidance and connections to occur for you. You’ll become more in tune with your guidance with relaxed attention and practice, and your life will unfold in amazing ways.

Much love to you all!

Selu’s Song Flower Mandala

Selu’s Song flower mandala embodies the message of Corn Mother. It was created from my photograph of an orange daylily. Selu [say-loo] is the name Corn Mother is known by in the Cherokee tradition. Giving gladly of herself, she fed and cared for her family, the birds and animals, and Earth Mother. She sang spirit songs, and made the world around her beautiful. Through her story we learn the importance of unconditional giving for balance and harmony in our lives. She teaches us how to keep the joy of life and maintain the balance by giving back, and staying in appreciation for everything on Earth Mother. Her stories help us keep our focus clear.

You can read her wonderful story, as told by Waynonaha Two Worlds, here.

“In the abundance of the harvest may we all have gratitude for all living things and honor all that Corn Mother and Mother Earth have given.” – Waynonaha Two Worlds
