Summer Evening

It’s just now finally spring and here I am thinking of summer! Summer Evening is one of those peaceful moments worth savoring. There was a light, cool breeze coming in through the window. I’d just picked a beautiful red Nasturtium for the house. The pretty green glass vase, a gift from my Great Aunt’s collection, caught the light in such a lovely way. I’m so glad I made this picture, because it takes me back to that tranquil moment in time in a heartbeat.

This really may be a great time to post this though. We still have time to plant Nasturtiums even from seed! Whether you grow them in pots or in the garden, they grow quickly and are so easy to care for. They come in many colors. I love that you can use them in recipes. They have a wonderful peppery taste, and they look so beautiful in any dish or salad.  You can eat both the flowers and the lily pad shaped leaves. Hopefully I’ll be trying out some recipes and post pictures for you later.

Plant some flowers! It’s so much fun to watch them grow.
