If we are peaceful, if we are happy, we can smile and blossom like a flower, and everyone in our family, our entire society, will benefit from our peace. — Thich Nhat Hanh (Being Peace)
These are Comanche water lilies, and one of the amazing things about this beautiful variety is that the flowers change color over time. The blooms are yellow at first, and gradually change to a peachy orange, and then to a deeper red orange. Seeing them blooming, all different colors together, is a stunning sight.
The name, From Still Water, came to me while reflecting on the beauty of the flowers rising from the calm water, and how, like the water, when the mind is calm, the beauty of happiness and inner peace naturally arises.
So yes, I was thinking about thinking, and I do find that funny! 😀
I’ll leave you today with one last quote. I know it’s true; I’ve seen your smile. Peace. ♥
Because of your smile, you make life more beautiful. — Thich Nhat Hanh
Your work of image, wisdom connections, and words delights all my senses, Karen. Namaste’

Really stunning! This photo would make a wonderful notecard; with or without your quote!
Thanks, Cheryl. There’s a sale at the printer this week, so you have me thinking about cards! 🙂
Hi Karen, Your photo is exquisite and Thich Nhat Hanh says the nicest things, doesn’t he! I just discovered your site from Sharon Voysey’s Facebook post.
Thank you, Dorothy! It’s so nice of you to come by and leave such a lovely comment. I appreciate you letting me know how you found me.
Thinking about you thinking about thinking. Love the quote, Karen.
Haha, good one, Michelle! As soon as I realized I was thinking about thinking, it made me laugh! I’m glad you like the quote too.
Beautiful image Karen (and words)! It almost looks as if the lily in the foreground is reflecting the one in the background only a mirror image. I love the color and the effect. Well done!
Thank you, Julie!
