Winter has its own beauty, and the blues are the best! Lovely white snow, sparkling ice, winter berries, and more are set off by beautiful blues and grays. The touches of color you see make such a wonderful visual impact at this time of the year when the earth is at rest. During an afternoon walk we saw these eye-catching yellow berries. I’m not sure what kind of tree or shrub it is. While attempting to find out what it was called, I read that yellow berries in the landscape last longer than red ones because the birds don’t recognize them. That was something I’d never heard before.
These sparkling icicles caught the light of the sun just as it was setting. We’ve had some lovely, fluffy snow this year. It’s so light that it blows and drifts a bit. The snow was up to the calf of my leg as I waded over to get this shot. This was my last capture for the day, and then it was in the house for me where it was cozy and warm. I hope you’re enjoying your wintertime too.
Brrrrrrrrrr! Beautiful shots, Karen!
Karen, these are stunning! I love the yellow berries. You so rarely see yellow in the winter landscape and your capture is a gorgeous composition. The icicles are lovely also and the bokeh sets them off perfectly. Well done!
Your photos always touch me
